Two artists in the process of navigating what it means to occupy the fullest sense of the word, while living in the most dense city of musicians in the country, have introduced a new sound to their circle. “TRIBE!” is the first collaboration to come from this friendship. It is a two-piece project that consists of a studio version as well as a live performance of the track that was recorded during a heavy storm in Los Angeles.

“This is the eradication of heavy links. Separation from a past environment that is not fruitful. Pouring into those who deserve it and need it; pouring love into the tribe.”  -BEZA
The live recording of “TRIBE!” was performed on the first floor of a home studio owned by music and gear obsessed producer, Moh Dalloul. Upon the band’s arrival, Moh was in the middle of unpacking carefully preserved vintage, and recreations of iconic microphones he had acquired from manufacturers across Europe and South America. The experimentation of microphone placement and search for the “last missing piece” to the recording puzzle during the session left the band with only 15 minutes to get the “right” take without rehearsal.

Kwo experimented with significant production and tempo changes throughout the creation of “TRIBE!” Once the general 3-part structure was established, Kwo tapped Moh for the lush and funky guitars that both fill and drive the track. BEZA, Kwo, and Alec Dibell came together to further arrange the track in Alec’s studio. Kwo brought over his Prophet synthesizer and within seconds, created patches based on ideas Alec communicated verbally. The group exchanged ideas late into the night and reconvened weeks later at Kwo’s new home to hear his final tweaks to the production.
